Why I Rec This Fic: Me chanting wasted potential! Wasted potential! - Look I just want some more female characters interacting okay? And Faye and Julia have so much chemistry in their one scene, there just have to be fanwork for them.

Why I Rec This Fic: The kind of hazy tragic style/relationship fits canon well, and I like my Julia as bad news.

Faye put the book down and felt the tangled electric shimmer of Julia‘s hair through her fingers. Impulsively she hummed a melody with a drunken twinge in how it clung in her memory, a tune she’d heard on the saxophone in a bar on Ganymede’s moon. She thought of all the little veins of roads and highways on Earth, so many blown to toxic ash, as if all these dead promises of escape were reincarnated into so many strands of hair for a woman with eyes that seemed anciently wise yet barely aware.

Why I Rec This Fic: I think it makes sense that Julia would have a lot of simelar issues to Spike given that they lived in the same circumstances - and this kind of complicated/messed up female character is something I love. - And I also love the hope/fight in choosing to get better and change to be better - that is something I can see wonderful for this two characters together.

“You don’t owe me anything,” Faye says. “And I don’t give a damn about the past. Life moves on, and I did too.”
“You saved my life,” Julia says.
Julia’s frowning, and Faye likes how it ruins her image. She likes when Julia is imperfect, likes when she comes back after a failure, the way her jaw is set and her frustration is palpable in the air. She thinks about provoking Julia at those times, wonders what the other girl would do to her then.

Why I Rec This Fic: For me honestly Faye is the most interesting character on Cowboy Bebop, even if I am not always happy with what Canon gave her – but compared to Julia she got the long end of the stick – and seeing Julia though her eyes, see her from the perspective of another female character trying to come to terms with who they are as a person feels very different then seeing her mostly though Spikes idealization – no Faye never got the chance to get to know Julia as a person either – but still, it feels like a dynamic I want to explore. It also features the kind of post canon unspoken feeling angst I am just weak for. "In the slaughterhouse of love, they kill only the best, none of the weak or deformed. Don't run away from this dying. Whoever's not killed for love is dead meat".-Rumi. 

Faye was a grabby child, or at least that's what she thinks she could have been. There are parts of her memory which are still fuzzy. Undetermined. What she doesn't remember in facts, she recalls through emotions. And above all, Faye knows that she likes having things, but hates needing them.
The latter has probably cursed her life forever, judging from how easily the ache sits in her chest and giggles.
Love´s a horrible feeling, a brother to hunger. Faye knows it too well, which doesn't make the emotion any better. No matter how many times you tell yourself to stop, it doesn't erase that hollowness, that helpless starving that rejects all substitutes.

Why I Rec This Fic: The scene with the two of them in that car is one of my favorite Cowboy Bebop scenes in the whole show. There is potential in it, for both characters but specially for Julia who gets the short end of the stick in canon (I am bitter about this).

“Wait!” Faye’s cry stops Julia from driving away. Faye grabs the side of the car and leans in, trying to see Julia’s face, trying to understand. “You’re that Julia?”
“Of course I am,” Julia responds. “What does it matter?”
“It’s just—” Faye hesitates “—I was beginning to think that you weren’t even real.”
